Going wherever the evidence leads

I am a British journalist, broadcaster and author.

My weekly opinion column, which currently appears in The Times of London, has been published over the years in the GuardianObserver, Sunday Times and Daily Mail. I also write for the Jewish News Syndicate, am a regular panellist on BBC Radio's The Moral Maze and speak on public platforms throughout the English-speaking world.

My first novel, The Legacy, which deals with conflicted Jewish identity, antisemitism and the power of history, was published in 2018 along with my personal and political memoir, Guardian Angel.

My previous books include the 2006 best-seller Londonistanabout the British establishment's capitulation to Islamist aggression, and The World Turned Upside Downthe Global Battle over God, Truth and Power, published in 2010.

I have been writing for more than 35 years about the mounting challenges to western culture and civilisation. I remain as committed as I have always been to standing up for truth against lies, justice against injustice and freedom against tyranny.

Over the years, however, I came to believe that many of those who I had thought shared that commitment were in fact promoting falsehoods, injustice and abuses of power.

I believe I speak for the silent majority who have become increasingly dismayed by the erosion of rationality, conscience and respect for our shared humanity.

I hope you will join me on this tumultuous journey. Thank you for your interest in my work.
