The scientists who aren't there
Everyone knows “climate-change deniers” know nothing about science. Oh wait...
More than 1100 scientists, scholars and other professionals have signed up to a statement stating “there is no climate emergency”.
The statement has been produced by the Climate Intelligence Group. This was founded in 2019 by emeritus professor of geophysics Guus Berkhout and science journalist Marcel Crok.
But hey, everyone knows that “climate-change deniers” know nothing about science.
The Declaration says that anthropogenic global warming theory (AGW), the doctrine that tells us the world is on course for planetary catastrophe as a result of rising CO2 levels, is profoundly unscientific. It states:
Natural as well as anthropogenic factors cause warming
Warming is far slower than predicted
Climate policy relies on inadequate models
CO2 is plant food, the basis of all life on Earth
Global warming has not increased natural disasters
Climate policy must respect scientific and economic realities
And it comments:
To believe the outcome of a climate model is to believe what the model makers have put in. This is precisely the problem of today’s climate discussion to which climate models are central. Climate science has degenerated into a discussion based on beliefs, not on sound self-critical science. Should not we free ourselves from the naive belief in immature climate models?
Seen this declaration reported in any mainstream media outlets? Of course not. Everyone knows that “climate-change deniers” know nothing about science.
