The fight for the west in an age of unreason
My discussion with Jonathan Tobin about the challenges we all face
Earlier this week, I took part in a podcast with my editor-in-chief at JNS, Jonathan Tobin. We discussed the coronation of King Charles III, our revolutionary age of unreason, antisemitism and the situation of British Jews, identity politics, the war in Ukraine and the mass anti-government protests in Israel. You can watch our conversation below.
Forthcoming speaking engagements
I’m pleased to let you know that I’ll be undertaking some speaking engagements over the next few months.
On Wednesday May 17, I’ll be speaking on “Reflections on the Revolution in the West” at the three-day National Conservatism conference being held in London. The conference website link is here.
On Sunday May 21, I’ll be speaking in Jerusalem alongside Professor Richard Landes and Charles Jacobs at the launch of Betrayal, a book of essays produced by Jacobs and Avi Goldwasser of the Jewish Leadership Project about the failure of America’s Jewish leadership to defend the interests of the Jewish people. To register for the event, please click here.
In the second week of June, I’ll be speaking in Los Angeles: details in due course.
And in the last week of October, I’ll be speaking in New Orleans.
If any groups in the US are interested in my speaking to them during these latter two periods, please get in touch.
My most recent exclusive post for my premium subscribers discusses how US Supreme Court justices are being smeared, delegitimised and even threatened with assassination. This is how the piece begins:
American Democrats, in the Biden administration and beyond, have been busily lecturing the Israeli government about what they claim to be an anti-democratic attack on the independence of Israel’s judiciary. Rub your eyes at the staggering hypocrisy of this. For America’s conservative Supreme Court justices are currently being subjected to an unprecedented campaign of baseless smears, character assassination, intimidation and even threats of assassination by Democrat activists and their patsies in the American media.
And you can read my most recent post that’s available to everyone, suggesting that a baleful explanation lies behind western hostility to Israel and indifference towards Iran, by clicking here.
One more thing…
This is how my website works.
It has two subscription levels: my free service and the premium service.
Anyone can sign up to the free service on this website. You can of course unsubscribe at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” at the foot of each email.
Everyone on the free list will receive the full text of pieces I write for outlets such as the Jewish News Syndicate and the Jewish Chronicle, as well as other posts and links to my broadcasting work.
But why not subscribe to my premium service? For that you’ll also receive pieces that I write specially for my premium subscribers. Those articles will not be published elsewhere. They’ll arrive in your inbox as soon as I have written them.
There is a monthly fee of $6.99 for the premium service, or $70 for an annual subscription. Although the fee is charged in US dollars, you can sign up with any credit card. Just click on the “subscribe now” button below to see the available options for subscribing either to the premium or the free service.
A note on subscriptions
If you purchase a subscription to my site, you will be authorising a payment to my company Dirah Associates. In the past, that is the name that may have appeared on your credit card statement. In future, though, the charge should appear instead as Melanie Phillips.
And thank you for following my work.
