How psychology itself has gone mad
Beyond the transgender cult, the therapeutic world has become a force for totalitarianism
Much has been written about the terrible and often irreversible damage done to children’s health by doctors, psychologists and other health professionals who subscribe to the cult of transgenderism.
While people who truly believe they were born into the wrong sexual body should always be treated with compassion, there is a vast amount of evidence that for many children ensnared by the transgender cult compassion has been replaced by reckless cruelty. Health professionals presented with children and young people suffering from a range of psychological disturbances, such as autism, depression, suicidal behaviour, eating disorders or confusion over their sexuality, are refusing to treat these as the psychological problems they undoubtedly are. Instead they are subjecting such children to medical or surgical procedures to alter their sexual functioning, often with catastrophic results.
Now horrific evidence has emerged that health professionals have been well aware of the potential harms of the treatments they are meting out — sometimes to children or adults who are too young or mentally ill to understand the consequences.
This has come to light from a tranche of leaked internal files from the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH), which is considered the leading global authority on the treatment and care of people with “gender” issues. The injuries described in these files include cancer, infertility, loss of sexual function, liver tumours and death.
They also show that the ethical requirement to obtain informed consent is being violated, with WPATH members admitting that children and adolescents cannot comprehend the lifelong consequences of sex-trait modification interventions being administered to them — and in some cases, due to poor health literacy, neither can their parents.
These revelations confirm that the transgender cult has involved systematic clinical malpractice on a shocking scale. The question they raise, of course, is how so many doctors, psychologists and other professionals tasked with treating mental illness can have gone so badly off the professional rails like this.
The answer to that question is provided in a shocking and important film made by the New Culture Forum and put up on YouTube last week. It’s presented by Amy Gallagher, a mental health nurse and trained psychotherapist — who is also suing Britain’s most prestigious mental health clinic for bullying her when she objected to being taught an ideology which she believed had no place in a clinical setting.
Psychology, she says, is no longer treating madness; it has itself gone mad.
