Frightening evidence has emerged of Hamas plots against Jews in Europe.

Seven people have been arrested in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands on suspicion of planning terror attacks against European Jewish institutions. Danish police said on Thursday that they had foiled a terrorist plot by a network with international links, having arrested two people and with four more being investigated for terrorism. The arrests, which were carried out in coordinated actions, “thwarted a terror attack plot that aimed to kill innocent civilians in Europe,” according to a joint statement from Israel’s Mossad spy agency and Shin Bet security service. Mette Frederiksen, Denmark’s prime minister, said the Jewish community in her country was in danger. 

On the same day, German officials said they had arrested three suspected Hamas members who were planning a terror attack against Jewish institutions in Berlin. According to German prosecutors, the Hamas operatives were under orders to bring a cache of weapons to Berlin from an undisclosed European location to attack Jewish institutions. The German officials said the suspects were closely linked to the leadership of Hamas’s military wing and were “longstanding members of Hamas and have participated in Hamas operations abroad”. 

The European Hamas mastermind is reportedly an individual from Britain. The Times of London reported that a British pro-Palestinian activist living in Berlin has been accused of running Hamas networks across Europe. In an internal document, the German interior ministry has named the Briton as the clandestine “person in charge of Germany for Hamas,” alleging that he had contacts with the highest levels of the terror group’s leadership and was organising its activities in several European states.

Well, what a surprise from Londonistan.

Yet news of this European Hamas plot has been met with relative indifference. Warnings that Hamas is becoming “the new Isis” — in other words a depraved Islamist terrorist force whose stated intention is to attack the west after it has wiped out the Jews —  don’t resonate. People associate Hamas “only” with the Jews of Israel, about whose fate the west really doesn’t care. As is now all too evident, many in the west — especially the young — think all Jews deserve what’s coming to them. Worse still, they feel sympathy for Hamas and its cause.

The tsunami of Jew-hatred across the west, in massive street demonstrations, on university campuses and in verbal and physical abuse, is a terrifying phenomenon because it is being allowed to surge virtually unchecked. 

In Britain, the police response to mass anti-Jewish intimidation has been abysmal. The Telegraph reported that footage has emerged of what are said to be doctors marching from St Thomas’s Hospital in central London to Downing Street. One man was seen holding up a sign which said:

The British gov and political leaders are slaves of the Zionist Jews.

On Saturday, a group waving flags and chanting slogans congregated outside the London residence of Israel’s ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely, in one of dozens of locally-organised protests across the country. The Telegraph reported:

One man with a megaphone said: “Many of you have seen the ambassador of Israel and concluded she is not a very nice person. So she may not be a very nice person but what we object to is that she is calling for a genocide.” This was met with chants of “shame on you”.

Needless to say, Hotovely had said nothing of the kind; she had merely told Sky News that a “two-state solution” was off the table after the October 7 pogrom because “Israel knows today, and the world should know now, that the Palestinians never wanted to have a state next to Israel”.

Yet the police have responded to all this intimidation by nicely asking the protest organisers to “do more to clamp down on antisemitic banners and chants” and “to communicate to protesters what is not acceptable”. 

Why is the response of the British police so pathetic? The terrifying answer is this. It’s not just that what’s been unleashed across the west is so massive the police can’t cope with it. It’s that brainwashing has become the new normal.
